Dead Eyes 681
Loads of accounts of the old timers doing it. I'd hazard a guess that it was the locator collar that changed it all 2 Quote Link to post
Mixedgrill 704
Maybe?? I think it's just that the terriers they keep haven't got or it's what they are happy with some people can't be bothered with digging they'd rather the terrier move it for the bolt 2 Quote Link to post
wilbur foxhound 480
Two terriers in an earth hole, there ain't the room for two of them to work a fox,two in a rock pile or cairn can be a different matter,I'm sure when these old terrier men / huntsmen talk about worrying a fox is to have it killed, always one terrier for the job,atb wf Quote Link to post

stop.end 4,079
Dose anyone still do this..was out last week with the hounds ran one in the hounds marked well but the old fella with us wanted to try his terrier so off he went dog moved about a bit as if he couldn't stop it.. he asked could he slip his bitch in and they'll get the job done (not a practice I'd preach) sure enough it bolted after 10 minutes lol some hill billy's out there NO. you should have just explained to the old man that 2 terriers were never needed and you would go to the transport and get 1 single terrier and get the job done quick sharp! and be on ur way 1 Quote Link to post

Thats why folk should know the working temperament of their terriers and work and breed from them accordingly. It will not come as to much of a shock when it becomes evident the amount of folk that own them without the slightest idea.
