Accip74 7,112
....or Sunday Roast Apparently in the last year the traditional roast has fallen out of Britain's top 5 favourite dishes for the first time. Apart from reasons such as moving away from traditional dishes & eating less meat, trying to be more healthy, the saddest reason is lack of time & convenience. Butchers are reporting the trend of cutting meat up smaller so people can cook it in the magic 30 minutes. I do a Sunday Roast quite often, more so from the Autumn onwards, there's nothing much better imo. It's also a great way to get the kids eating all their vege etc.... It takes me about 2 hours to do the full thing from scratch, so not a big chunk out of your life for something so fcuking good! So come guys, throw away those Aunt Bessie's & shitty gravy granules & make time for a proper Sunday Roast :-) Edited September 14, 2017 by Accip74

jok 3,244
Accip. Every Sunday without fail. Everything. Just alternate beef, lamb, pork and chicken. As you so rightly say the kids get all their vegetables and to be fair it's a good craic round the table. Keep up the good work.jok.

It's Lamb or Chicken/Guinea Fowl more often than not here.....followed by pork as a favourite.

Greyman 28,417
Have a roast every Tuesday not Sunday, Sunday,s are for hangovers, also prefer lamb or pork or a nice brisket joint cooked low and slow for about 8hrs, as a kid we used to have to put jam on the left over Yorkshire puds for our pudding
