air gun ant 1,666
First knife, used an old b7 stud I found lying around, I'm not sure what steel it is but I know they are decent carbon steel. Think it was about 1 1/2" so as you can imagine it's a lot of metal to move! lol I've got Popeyes right arm now! But after some blood, sweat and tears I've ended up with this, quenched in oil and tempered, it's holding a good edge. Brass pins and reclaimed teak for the handle. I'm pretty pleased and have learnt lessons for the next one. Cheers ant

air gun ant 1,666
How are you hardening your steel ant?ive been heating it up to critical temp, so it's non magnetic and then quenching in oil, and then once fully cool and polished back up I've been tempering it to a straw colour with the blow torch. It may not be the best way to do it but it seems to work well on the steel I'm using.
