janine 53
One of my hobs that's caged on his own, has lost loads of weight and his nose is orange, not looking too good. I have googled an orange nose and can be a sign of anemia. My question can Ferrets get Lung Worm? this would cause these symptons. There are a lot of slugs at the moment around the cage and he does eat them. The hob is around six years old Quote Link to post
beany01 223
If you search on Google, they do mention slugs can be hosts to lungworm. Dogs and ferrets can be infected if they then eat the slugs Quote Link to post
rabbit demon 302
I think lung worm is rare enough but at the same time quite possible. If you suspect its lung worm lung worm he has he needs a vet to give something for it. I know lung worm is fatal if left untreated. 1 Quote Link to post

The one 8,513
Another thought can he smell jills in season from where he is that tends to put them off there grub , but no a orange nose never known a ferret eat slugs here as the slime puts them off and they sort of foam a bit and claw there mouth Quote Link to post
rabbit demon 302
I had a hob that would often eat them too. Never made him sick, used to make me feel sick though. He was well fed so wasnt lacking anything, he was just fond of a big slug now and again. Quote Link to post
