I'd like a lurcher tattoo but have struggled finding a pic that i would use. I'm considering one of Martin Knowlden's sketches used in Plummer books. They would be the style i like.

 

I always liked the one from the dust cover of diary of a hunter

Bosun it doesn't need to be a drawing a photo is better and if the artist is worth their salt they would draw up and adjust till it was what you want

I know the one you mean Stiffy but i thought the dust cover from 'Diary' was a photo of the bloke with the spade an dog?

f**k me, that takes me back. I bought it as a teenager.

I remember starting to read it and noticed how Mr P. was giving out about those who swapped and chopped dogs and were only messers (maybe he was right) but by the end of the book he was mentioning how he'd lent this dog to Mr Smith and that dog to Mr Hancock and I seen how big a hypocrite he was.

LOL, I had most of his books by then and sold them for good money to a Plummer wannabee, LOL, who was in his 50s.

Just to add, the one I bought was a lad carrying a shovel too, not the dust cover shown above.

Yeah and I regularly bait tawny owls wait till the door mouse goes on that's proof of mouse hunting against the hunting act that is feck they'll throw the book at me

Make sure you don't get a brindle lurcher put in the mix, or they'll be sure you're a full blown mouse baiter
