si brown 8,486
been on a bit of a spending spree lately so I've been doing a few guvies! was out of town today building a wall for an old bloke I've known for years due to bordom I spent most of the day walling away and gassing as he docent get many visitors, he mentioned something about rabbits but I was head down and didn't really pick up on what he was on about.. I knew there were rabbits there but only seen random ones! I went to put a mix in and one caught my eye, I knew I had the 97 in the boot as I was going to do a house call on the way home . missed a sitter by a days donkey ride, id altered the trigger and pulled it before id realised what was happening there were about 4 others that took off after that... so I re cocked it and walked to the other end of the paddock there was one sat chilling next to a big pile of manure! 40yrd and a jsb heavy put pay to his day and the first one for the pot! finished of putting me mix in and got back to work again.. by 3.30 id had enough so went to was the mixer out and saw an other one, this was only about 20yrd away and the jsb hit the mark again so ended the day nicely with a fair few bricks down and a happy customer with two less rabbits wrecking his land and ready for the pot! called in on the home call on the way back and only saw one rabbit sat right in front of a greenhouse so he got a free pass... might go back tonight with the nv if I can be arsed to get off the sofa atb si 6 Quote Link to post

Which is your preferred rifle mate 97 or Sport ? atb Mark. leave my wall alone its a hard one mark there both spot on and recoil/ accuracy wise an equal match! the prosport looks the part but the 97's loading pips it slightly, I load pellets in springers with my left hand.. always have cos my right hands numb:( I got rid of the tx because of the bear trap, that was as accurate as either of these though regarding quality the 97 took a lot less work to get it as it should be atb si 1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,558
That description pretty much " mirrors" Si Pitterway`s thoughts back in 2010. Si P, mentions the Sport comes out of the box tuned but then pushes a Sandwell tune changes all on a 97 K. I will be getting my last modern springer soon but as to which one ? The Walther is missed but the stock and finish is not. For walk about hunting with a spring rifle I have never, ever, got close to the FWB Sports with any other. For static, spring rifle hunting ? Is there a rifle out there to better a T Rex HC mk3 ? atb Mark. Quote Link to post

I've never shot a shop tuned riffle mark so I can't comment on that but I do know what I like and when somethings running well! out of all the above mentioned my 95 has got the best and smoothest firing cycle pity the stock docent handle quiet as well as the others! shame you don't live a bit nearer cos shooting them all is so different its a mine field atb si im not sure the ps would suit the primos, the underside is mega broad 2 Quote Link to post
