In future if your unsure if there's any earth's in the vicinity, keep it on a lead or run it with a locator on... If you do post pics, give the dog a wipe down first. No one is born with a 50 yr old head on them... Regardless of how some on here make out they're the authority on all things working terrier, we have all made mistakes, those who say they haven't are talking shite, and probably done most their digging listening in a beer tent lol. Darren, you seriously need to either get in with someone who will show you the ropes, or do your homework on all things working terriers. You owe it to your dog's. As said, you can't let your dog's run off the lead, where there is any chance they may find an earth. No if's or but's. You were lucky this time, there should be NO next time.

Yep I pmd the boy saying the exact same thing he was indeed very lucky.

 

Also my advice for what it's worth is, If he has no one to tag along with then research, research and more research. And as above Dogs on a lead.
