cragman 2,770
In October, the National Mis-trust are voting at their AGM on whether to allow trail hunting to continue on their land. It's a big call, especially for the fell packs, whose whole existence could depend on the outcome. It looks like a few well known antis (and Christ knows what else) have managed to get this to a voting stage. If you're a member or any of your family are, please get this proposal binned and let's maintain the right to exercise and trail hunt our hounds. The fell packs are legendary, and villages and hamlets in the lakes are close knit communities. Hunting and hounds play a major part in their everyday lives. Please spread the word. I'm sure there's many on here who have spent time on a fell with hounds. If there's a better feeling, I'm yet to have it ? Thanks 10 1 Quote Link to post
mushroom 13,082
What is wrong with this world where we allow this to happen? Big problem getting the farmers on board up on the Cumbria fells and mountains, they pretty much all rent off the trust. One word against policy and they'll be turfed off at the earliest convenience! The trust have turned into cnuts tbh! Can you imagine, all the anti, liberal hobbyists taking over the running of the farms? Country is fuucked? Quote Link to post
cragman 2,770
Mush, there's over a hundred buildings empty on trust property in the lakes, all left to wreck and ruin. Rents are high and the incentive is disappearing fast for those that are still left. It's a strange world when the lives of a few foxes are put before the heritage of local people and area so beautiful 3 1 Quote Link to post
mushroom 13,082
Don't get me started mate Sickened by it. And they wonder why the likes of Carlisle etc is going down the tubes. Some of the hardiest people I have ever met have eeked a living from that land. Let's see if they can still walk the fells with no management in 10 years time. Idiots!!! 1 Quote Link to post

Hope its someone with the necessary minerals Where is being held maybe a show in numbers might sway the vote. Its a real concern they just keep chipping away at peoples lives and lively hoods on matters they know nothing about. Hope it goes well for us. Atb 1 Quote Link to post

cragman 2,770
Today, the motion was just about defeated with staunch support from the CA and sensible National Trust members. This will be revisited in three years so we must be on our guard and stick together. If you are a member, thanks for any vote and support for trail hunting on NT land to continue. The antis led a campaign full of mistruths and bullshit! ? 7 1 Quote Link to post
Rat face 1,655
You can guarantee the unwashed scrum will be watching hunts on NT land like a hawk for the next 3 years. Well done everyone that worked hard on the pro hunt side Edited October 23, 2017 by Rat face 1 Quote Link to post

cragman 2,770
Shows how important it was to most members when only around 60k voted from both sides out of around 5 million members. The difference was only 299 for trail hunting to continue. Another vote can be held in 4 years time 1 Quote Link to post
