Blackbriar 8,569
I was reading an article that said 35 year-olds hate their job the most......and it got me thinking about some of the jobs I've done over my life. I've had some jobs I really enjoyed, a few I was indifferent about, and I thought "It hasn't been so bad...." And then, I remembered doing 12 hour shifts spent heat sealing bags of frozen vegetables.......(and I remembered the old woman who had worked their for 9 years, standing by a conveyor, picking out substandard peas, all day long !) I've strimmed the grass around trees, for the council and I've sat outside a building site, writing registration numbers down all day..... So, what's the very worst job you've ever had....the one they couldn't pay you enough to go back to ?

Blackbriar 8,569
The horrors this is bringing back...... Loading cases of frozen chicken onto cages and pushing them onto lorries.....night shifts on convoy vehicles, escorting traffic through roadworks at 15mph - up and down the same 2 miles of road, turn round, go back, do it again....... ....endless hours of mind-numbing, spirit crushing tedium !
Born Hunter 17,751
Working in a Curry's warehouse was totally depressing. I quit before the induction had finished. Had a spin at teaching and quit the second day of the primary school experience that was a pre-requisite for the course, I couldn't hack dealing with diddly little children which quickly exposed my lack of commitment to that career path, lol. Charity fundraising job where ya chap on doors and ask for direct debits for whatever charity has hired the firm. It's difficult to sell charity when you think the job itself is utterly contemptible! My last job was training as a data analyst for a firm that took NHS work. The job was shit but had a decent bunch of people. However it was managed by an ruthless bitch who drove staff away and killed the atmosphere. I've never had a job that I enjoyed really.

Torquemada 288
Worked for a hoity toity marketing firm about 16 years ago doing something with the computers they had. The bloke that owned it was a psychopath egomaniac and needed putting down. His wife was as bad, a complete and utter bitch to the girls who worked there. It was like a Victorian Household where the staff were treated like they entered "service". I lasted around 9 weeks and he was surprised when I quit.
