I posted a scope to Smoothly on here ..... I kid you not - I told the post office that it was a marital aid :laugh:

i will get a quote for the postage then. i use my hermes, should be

ok with them? i like the idea from blackbriar if this does not offend

anyone i would like him to have first offer.

so the rifle should be going to blackbriar, to be restored,

then used by the youngones in there club.

Very kind of you ! Well restore it to its former glory and it will serve new members well.

UPDATE......UPDATE.....UPDATE......

 

As promised, here's the pictures of the BSA Meteor restoration. We repaired and refinished the stock, reblued the metalwork and replaced all the bolts with nice, shiny, new brass ones. We even managed to restore the gold lettering on the barrel logo !

You can see where the stock was broken, but the repair is solid.

 

There seems to be an intermittent problem with the trigger sear, but the one we put in was already old and worn, so the rifle doesn't always fire when it's cocked - if anyone has a sear for a Mk3 or 4 hanging around, I'd be interested in acquiring it.

 

But, on the whole, it's done and ready to be scoped up !
