TAXI DRIVER 549
Plenty of ex Brit soldiers have made decent money fighting other countries wars and conflicts. To me you put your family first and then your country. Plenty of veterans also have medals that they can't even look at because they've been let down by their country. Mo Farah is no different. He's done well for a lad with nothing.AT least he has a cockney/London accent.

ginger beard 4,652
It was an example to prove you couldn't do it even without your 10 stone backpack on I believe that Socks' military experience was at the elite end of the armed forces. If so, I'm prepared to wager that he's run much further than 10,000m with a Bergen on his back ! was he the one dangling from a rope by his foot at the iranian embassy.? only joking socks i have alot of respect for all our forces really. Astanley 11,565
I don't follow athletics much ,but isn't there a bit of a question over Farrah's achievements re PEDs and his trainer ,or am I thinking of someone else ?

Soldiers,Nurses,Samaritans they impress me I do agree with you but it's a bit silly to compare someone who does a job because they trained to do it and get paid for doing it to an world record breaking Olympic gold medalist! Yes nurses and soldiers are impressive but with all due respect to both trades the fact there are hundreds of thousands of both all around the world shows that anyone can do it.....not many folk could do what mo does or achieved what he has and that's the difference. How many will join the army or become a nurse between now and the time all of his records are broken? if your laying in a pool of blood who would you want to come and help a soldier, nurse or mo farrah ?

walshie 2,804
Is anyone ever going to be in the situation where they need someone to run 10k for them at any speed? FFS. He's a runner and gets paid handsomely for it. Doesn't make him a hero.
BGD 6,436
Who said he was a hero? He's just a normal, decent bloke and an amazing athlete. Is it really so strange to admire athletic ability? Edited August 20, 2017 by BGD

johnny.w 316
Does anybody give a f**k ........ Come back when you have an olympic medal...... Tell that Cnut to come back when he has fought for the country that sponsors him whilst he lives in America ....... Lol what does being in the army have to do with anything?? I'd say he is definitely fitter than your average pti anyway and would probably excel as a soldier given the correct training for the job Excel as a soldier lol ... my pack used to weigh more than that f****r ...... Oh I see why did you never enter the 10,000 meters at Olympic level then? That's probably the most bizarre thing I've read on here.
