Hello,

My father is in to ferreting and also owns a couple of greyhounds which he enjoys hunting with. Could someone point me in the direction of a decent shop in or around London from which I would be able to buy him a few Xmas presents.

I am either looking for books / equipment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well I'm East, but dont mind travelling a bit.

As long as its a good enough shop with a good selection of stuff with things that would be suitable as gifts for someone into Ferretting or Dogs (preferably Greyhound / Whippets).

I didn't want to end up going somewhere that was predominantly Gun based, as although he's in to that as well, it wasn't what I had in mind.

Any suggestions welcome though!!!

There is one in Surbiton that ive been to a few times Info here I like this shop, nice people, its not huge but its ok.

There is one in Crawley that we visited just last weekend, it was ok but the online shop is way better than the actual shop... http://www.surplusstore.co.uk/

Im pretty sure there isnt one in Barnett any more as it says on the links in the post above but I could be wrong...

Check in the yellow pages online for either army surplus or air gun shops, you may be surprised whats near you.

I once stumbled into place called " Soldier of Fortune ", somewhere in London. Decades ago now and god alone knows where. But it's sure to have been full of 'interesting' things for outdoor types.

One place that should still exist and be worth a drool round might be Survival UK. Again, not exactly Field Sports, but sure to make any outdoorsman wish he was loaded! ;)

If you go down Sloane Street from Harvey Nichols and take the first left after the Gloucester pub, there's a field sports shop on the corner there just past the hotel. It's ridiculously expensive though but has gear for shooting, fishing etc...sells all the tweeds and hip flasks to the posh set. Great shop if you have the cash.
