Edrd Writing An Article?

Recommended Posts

How do you go about writing an article for edrd ,do you just get some lined paper and scribble away ,double spacing is it a requirement and what does it mean lol, photos do you just send in as few 6x4?

Any tips on how to go about it.

Write nice an clearly, put details on the back of the photos and send them off to Dave and expect to see your article in 3 or 4 issues time.

And I mean write clearly. I do and yet once a sentence that should have said "my daughter Ciara loves catching rats with her terrier" was printed as "my daughter Gara loves catching cats with her terrier", and that's something that might be illegal, LOL.

Go for it, it's nice to put some thought into something and then see it as the printed word.

Contact them through their website and ask for the submission guide?

Most mags, that take reader contributions, will give you an idea of how to present the article.

Had a couple of articles published in the shooting news and Weedworld :ninja: look at the style of the publication, write and re-write just to smooth out the edges,proof-read in case of spelling mistakes and send it off via e-mail....mail them the pics as well.

And don't forget plenty of bullshit. That way you'll fit right in amongst most of the other contributors who write stuff for it.

Has it gone that bad ?

I always found it to be a good read back when Phil Lloyd, Peter Tulip, Eddie Chapman wrote for it and I used to love the photographic articles by the Welsh Doctor and personally it wouldn't even enter my head to ask if an article is the truth or not, as long as it was good.

I do admit though that articles containing pedigrees and dates etc. should also be truthful and I don't like writers who have a hidden agenda and that's to talk up their dogs to sell pups.

But it was the price that stopped me getting it in the end. Sterling to Euro at the time meant that an issue was around 6 euro, too much for what it was.

Oh, and Richard Christians articles took up the most space in each issue and all they were about was him walking his two lurchers and calling the police "Pigs". No need for that crap in a magazine that's supposed to representing us.

JMHO.

It was pretty easy really just email Dave and tell him you want to do a article for the mag he will tell you the rest.

All I did is send it to him as a email and sent the pics the same way. It's easy as that

Do it buddy the mag cant run if people don't send stuff in

I am sure that the Editor of EDRD would be pleased to receive, articles/images, contributions, etc...

It must be a colossal task producing a regular Fieldsports Publication,.. without the financial assistance of adverts and sponsors.

Send in what you can, lads...
