MOLE265 792
Let's be honest, there is alot of folks mixing the pat with stuff on here. But that's ok? A mix is a mix no matter what way you justify it. Let's be honest, there is alot of folks mixing the pat with stuff on here. But that's ok? A mix is a mix no matter what way you justify it.Yeah there is a lot of folk mixing patterdales with stuff on here. But most are doing it to enhance the breed not for££££££ the pooodle brings nothing to the table. Jmho. Anything with a poo on the end of the name spells How the feck did the breed need enhancing before the ego,s,dollar and ribbon chasers entered the breed.A litter of poodle bred black terriers is just another step in the wrong direction, that direction lost its path and course many litters before this one.Just the same way your trying too enhance the Bedlington terrier!!! I try my hardest not to enhance the Beddy,i try my hardest to enhance what its possible to gain from a decent un. So your not interested in bettering the Bedlington terrier!!! 1 Quote Link to post

Ive done a little more than most in bettering the average Scruffy arsed fluffy,as i stated clearly enough. There are Bedlingtons and Bedlingtons that i like.I gave up being interested when i visited my 4th shrink on the subject. Squirrel_Basher 17,100
If your beddies don't, wont stay til dug to all your "work" has been a massive step back abd youd do better away from the breed . 1 Quote Link to post
Shoebootie 188
a friend of mine sent me this ad patterpoo pups $600 each , crazy what people will pay for mix breds and disappointing for working terriers. Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
If your beddies don't, wont stay til dug to all your "work" has been a massive step back abd youd do better away from the breed . Ill take you to a couple of places my shite works, you take one of your digging terriers and enter it and then stand there with your bar and grafter and ill come back a week later to see how deep your shovel got you or how many of the 2,3 and 4 tonne boulders, they are often the small uns, you have moved with your bars. You would come across as a tab more terrier educated if and when you get out of your comfort zone and throw a dog in where a digging terrier is left to its own devices,to graft away until it bolts or slays its fox.which will often be for a far longer period than the all conquering digging terriers you keep spouting on about. There are folk that work terriers and have an understanding of terrier work and then there are the folk that learn most of what they know from the hunting sites they frequent and the posts of pseudo terriermen,i bet you own Black terriers Quote Link to post
Rabbit Hunter 6,613
I've never understood that. Will stay until it's bolted the fox or killed it? How do you know it's killed it? We've all seen dogs come bloodied and victorious from an earth, only to enter another and get the same fox still 'very much alive'. Quote Link to post
dogmandont 9,805
Always enjoy reading about men that hunted the rock piles and the dogs they used. Something I've never done but find it very interesting. Quote Link to post
fat man 4,741
Always enjoy reading about men that hunted the rock piles and the dogs they used. Something I've never done but find it very interesting. I agree, heard a lot of good stories about Frank Buck and the places he done, not my cup of tea mind.Lads say that a diging dog will do the same thing as these specially bred rock dogs but its no use if a terrier goes down 20ft in a rock crevice, kills his fox and then is stuck there because it has not the know how or ability to climb back up and out again.I have heard and been on a few very good digs dept wise but at least you can dig down to your dog eventually,in rock its a different story. 5 Quote Link to post
tinytiger 826
I hear what you guy's are saying. Every dog was crossed to make certain breeds at one time, but over years of breeding it over and over and you stopped ading to it, it becomes a breed. Now if you believe in mixing dog's then one has no right to comment on what another man put's in his dog's. At the end of the day it's a mix a mutt. And when you cross stuff there is no consistency and never know what you will get. I def wouldn't of added poodle but then again i wouldn't ad pit or staff or bull terrier?a thoroughbred racehorse still isnt a breed(closed stud book for 300 plus years but they still throw in a few different types) Quote Link to post
