Recommendations For 500Quid

I'm after a new air rifle, I'd like a multi shot pcp but have a budget of £500. I already have charging kit, moderator and scope/mounts.

I'd prefer to buy new so I'm not buying someone else's problems.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

If I were you mate I'd look out for a second hand one for that money you'll get a real nice rifle most people will let you try before you buy if it's possible. Look out for Hw100 or airarms s510 both really nice bits of kit good luck

I agree with the above. All my guns have been second hand, save for an ASI Magnum and a Webley Vulcan Custom from the days before the Internet.

Most dealers will give a warranty, in my locality it is 1 month or 3 months.

I have bought from dealers and private and never been stung. Private usually means a back garden test which is fine.

 

The airgun market is bouyant at the moment, I have www.freeads.co.uk and http://www.gunstar.co.uk/ on my Favourites, as well as our much loved THL and pretty much all the guns are quality kit. I am always looking, even though I have more than enough. The only thing I need is time.

 

Don't rush into anything but there are loads out there. You could always go to a club, there will be always someone selling something as we are a compulsive lot. Not many with only one gun.

500 unfortunately doesn't get you much these days.

 

However, your budget will easily allow Gamo, Walther Rotex, SMK, Ultra's, S200's, lowerend S400's and I think Pellpax actually stock a FX Typhoon for less than 500 beans. Or did do. Was last month.

 

Of all them. Id go for an Ultra and get it tricked out.

BNs got in sales for bang on your budget.

 

I do kind of agree with what you said about the warranty on a new rifle but, you'll get so much more going used.

Thanks for the replies, I've been looking through the secondhand ads for something local and had a few rifles short listed. I happened to mention to a colleague I was after a rifle turns out his son was selling his bsa ultra due to lack of use.

It came in well under budget so the wife's happy as well.
