I never let the seasons get in the way of entering a pup and could learn a sapling more than it really needed with the odd bunny here and there.July and mullering 34 bunnies is a sad reflection of the times we live in now.

Everyone does things different mate as long as I'm not hunting your land it's not a problem the bitch had learnt a lot she's probs been lamping between 7-8 times she works the beam to perfection follow it anywhere take from seat ect if you saw her run you would think she's a seasoned dog not a pup and I think that's through me putting plenty in front of her only time will tell if she can handle the big bunnies but as a rabbit dog she's 100% not blowing my own trumpet but the bitch runs very well speed and plenty of strike

I could take the same pup out on a warm july afternoon and learn it more in the space of an hour and a couple of kills than it would ever learn in 7 or 8 lamping forays, except how to run the beam.Your mutt your life choices and i wish you well with that.I still find it distasteful that folk seek numbers in July and wish to post about it,it seems an egoistical element of everything i don,t wish to seek in owning a lurcher.

Why the foook would you want to be killing that many rabbits with dogs this time of year. . . milky Doe's must be a real challenge for your mutts.

So many reasons for not doing it...far outweigh the justifications your peddling.

Now this fella still a learning and in a few Yrs time his whole outlook maybe totally different .but I sees it like this he stacking the odds in the favour of the sapling and sees on getting it off on a good start ,I would not worry to much offa time a yr he killing pests simples .it be him putting the extra distance come winter between base camp etching find good nights running would it be that creame fawn bitch killing she caught my has a welp .it his what it his nothing more nothing less atb bunnys.
