pegandgun 52 Posted October 15, 2005 Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 Ive shot 1000s of rabbits with an air rifle,both 177 and 22.The 177 shoots flatter ,further and alot faster than a 22.With the right pellet the 177 hits very hard and kills rabbits instantly at 40-50yds(provided the air rifle is somewhere near 12ft lbs).Most people who say that the 22 is better have never tried the 177.Try it and you will be pleasantly suprised Quote Link to post
maty j 6 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Share Posted October 16, 2005 rats are tuff little things. ive never shot rats with a .177 just .22 and have still had runners @ about 5yds 11.8ft/lbs and AA field pellets and neck/shoulder shots. so i would GUESS that .177 would be worse for rats but perhaps someone who's tried this will tell you. ive thort of trying try rws super h-point's for rats but the local gun shop doesnt sell them.
