TommyL 0
Hello all, i am new to air gunning and am considering buying the following rifle/scope; B3-F .22 Rifle with 4 X 32 Scope & Mounts Is this suitable for hunting the folowing quarry, rats pigeons rabbits?? As i fear the shop assistant will tell me anything for a quick sale? Quote Link to post
Jordan 1
steer clear mate i started with that gun and regret it the accuracy is shite. The finish is terrible and the power varys from 8ftlb-10 save up a bit more and get yourself a better well known make or look in the for sale section where theres an air arms tx200 fro sale. Guest erb
How mutch do you want to spend [bANNED TEXT] I bought a webley exocet carbine last year' thats a good entry level gun think it was £130 without scope + later on you can chop it in for better one or they do take a theoben gas strut Quote Link to post
Guest smokin
Aggree with the above - any chinese airgun tends to be a bag of shite = If its a springer your after then look at the tried and trusted names like webley, weihrauch,BSA and air arms - even if second hand they will all be better than a B3 HTH Chris Quote Link to post
maty j 6
i started with some chinease shite as well. i got literly about 7yds from a rabbit it was facing me square on in a reed bed type area, shouldered the rifle, aimed, shot and the rabbit hops off as if nothing happend!! im sure you could pick up something like a bsa lightening for around £100 and approx £35 for a cheap scope and mounts that would last much longer and will probably shoot straight as well!! TommyL 0
Thanks all for the advice. So basically if i look for a.22 webley, weihrauch,BSA (even second hand) these will shoot better than the chinese shite? By the way, this may sound starnge but how can i get started? What i mean by this is that all my mates are into beer, football and little else. I'm trying to get one to go hunting with me on a farm his wife's grandparents own,but until this happens there's not much else for me to go for. I live in Liverpool(before u say anything i ain't a thief/thug) i had been ratting/rabbiting with friends many years ago in my early teens and now fancy a spot of hunting again. my regards tommy l Hello all,i am new to air gunning and am considering buying the following rifle/scope; B3-F .22 Rifle with 4 X 32 Scope & Mounts Is this suitable for hunting the folowing quarry, rats pigeons rabbits?? Guest erb
Yep even a seconhand one will be five times better than any of that chinease tin pot crap' The weighrauch might be the better rife but v heavy I had the exocet and my mate had the bsa lightning ' we both agreed that the webly was better' its a newer disighn and is mutch easyer to take appart an service than the lightning, You might have to start on your own mate' have you got a dog ? Get a ordernance servay map that shows all the footpaths on it ' go walk them all you will fined where the bunnys are. Youle probly fined yourself in places you shouldnt be so keep your head down One you can down a few rabbits you can ask your mate allong and show him how its done he will love it want a go himself and bobs your uncle you got a shootin mate Quote Link to post
Guest smokin
oh yes - and whatever you decide to buy - dont get shyte pellets - if they seem too cheap to be true - they probably are ATB Chris Quote Link to post
TommyL 0
Thanks for the advice erb, smokin, one final question, the only air rifle cases i have seen look very big, cumbersome and expensive. What do u people use to carry the rifle? As u said erb if u have to keep ur head down i don't want to advertise it. tommy l i started with some chinease shite as well. i got literly about 7yds from a rabbit it was facing me square on in a reed bed type area, shouldered the rifle, aimed, shot and the rabbit hops off as if nothing happend!! im sure you could pick up something like a bsa lightening for around £100 and approx £35 for a cheap scope and mounts that would last much longer and will probably shoot straight as well!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quote Link to post

pegandgun 52
My advice is to get a hw77 or hw97.Get a .177 because they kill better and further than a .22. To get started do what J darcy and myself done and poach everything within 10miles of your house until something better comes up Try moonlighting pheasants on a night.Superb fun :search: Quote Link to post
maty j 6
now now p&g you know thats not the propper way..... but a fun way to start out . scout around local farms, golf courses etc and try and write some lettters or chat to the boss and see if you can get some permission this way youve got nothing to worry about if your spotted i wouldnt say a .177 kills better than a .22 if anything the other way around but verry verry slightly as the pellet is bigger so causes more damage but on slightly. were as the .177 has a flatter tragectory(sp) over the .22 being the smaller pellet. and for the shooting buddy, well i go shooting with my brother occaisionaly and thats too much. he's forever snapping twigs, talking, fallingover and the rest. if you want a shooting buddy make sure they know the score.
