worse things happen every day of week that get no media coverage but if its someone doing a bit hunting with dogs /air rifle it gets main stream recognition --

Ain't that kind of the same with everything? All things considered we tend to put a lot of time and money into our 'hunting' which frankly makes buying even rabbits or pigeon more cost effective.

 

Most folk hunt deer either because the deer is considered a sporting quarry and/or because they take pride in sourcing their own meat. I don't think saving money really comes into it.
