Popular Post scothunter 12,609
Took dog out for walk. Coming back along the caladonian canal this women comes running up to me. "Can you help please, this old ladies dog is in the canal and we cant swim or get it out". so i goes along this really old women is in obvious distress!looks over there the springer "Floating" in water head under! Tie my dog to tree and in i go waist deep in water! Incidentally i don't swim either, but its near the bank but im aware this canal is 5 meters deep. From the bank the old women is saying its had 2mini strokes and shes 12 years old. Get to the dog lift its head out the water. Eyes are glazed over lifeless! Which im now shitting it to say to the old dear "i think its dead" in case she f***ing drops dead! so lift the dog up btw a f***ing wet lifeless dug weighs a lot haha. Just then a jogger runs by and say "hey mate can you give me a hand here". Nah sorry mate and keeps on running! (Wasn't you foxdropper was it) lol anyway get it up on bank. Put on its side from movies i know its the best position. Press on the dogs side. By this time the old women is devasted the dog looks dead! after 5mins of doing this i see a bit life coming into the eyes and a very slight movement of breath. Sat with it for another 10mins its breathing but barely. Carried it to the other women's car and there off to vet with it. Not sure if its going to make up but @least i tried eh.

Born Hunter 17,776
Canals are f***ing lethal. My cocker cannon balls in without a thought for how he is going to get out.

Born Hunter 17,776
when i first looked in canal and saw it floating head under.I thought no way thats alive! I think it's called the 'mammalian drown reflex'. Even after someone/thing has drowned it's still worth trying to save them/it because they very often come back. We're designed that way. In fact, it's safer to wait for someone to drown before trying to save them. Save them drowning you while thrashing for their life! LOL
