mark williams 7,550
I`ve mentioned before lads, I only ever use dead on cradles for decoying, " written in stone" for "my air gun hunting" . Shot gun lads and with respect, require the quarry within shot gun ranges and a plastic or flock decoy achieves this easily.( Fly by birds) Does a plastic or plastic flock decoy make a crow, magpie, pigeon land and sit happily in front of you while you cock, close, take aim etc, etc ? - NO ! The rfd want you to think so,- " It`s a load of bollocks" I have to freeze birds from the latest shoot to put on a cradle ,- gets a land and pose for 10 seconds tops. Here`s an example of yesterdays freeze and " PRESENTATION" This crappy presentation will get you a landing, stand still for 10 seconds shot.- if your lucky. If your shot is successful, immediately swap your cradle decoy for fresh. A picture paints a thousand words lads, just look at the colour of plumage in a matter of hours for starters,- one is a zombie on a cradle the other is a bird " just shot" on a cradle.- very, very effective indeed. Don`t comb it`s feathers, or posture it, chuck it fresh and colourful on a cradle - " that`s it" ! Placky / flock decoys Frozen bird decoys/ cradles ,- effective indeed but replace with fresh as soon as if you can.. Freshly shot, over cradles, very, very effective . Hope this helps any. atb Mark 6 Quote Link to post

Underdog 2,337
Mine are ancient plastic. I usually set near a sitter tree and any confused bird usually lofts in the tree for a shot. Good bag by the way. Quote Link to post
