johnny.w 316
Tough thread. I suppose things are better understood if we find the causes of all these conditions that plague people in society today. Without a doubt people do suffer from various illnesses, diseases and mental disorders, but thing is certain....all things are either self inflicted, man made or the result of generations of people having confidence in the medical field. If you think that some people just happen to suffer from certain conditions for absolutely no logical reason... then you are incorrect, there is always a reason and it almost always begins with the local drug dealer.. sorry I mean local GP. Are you implying all mental conditions are "self-inflicted" or caused by doctors? That's a crazy thing to say.

To find out what that is or to be interested in finding out, is a real step closer to solving such conditions. To think that generations of mother's father's and children have religiously taken all forms of medicines and drugs that have been prescribed to them, that this will have little or no effect on generations to come is really burying your intelligence in the sand. I don't disagree with that to a point as I don't believe doctor knows best all of the time. Most things happen for a reason, but to say that "all" things are self-inflicted or because of doctors is nonsensical. At least to me it is. Take a soldier with PTSD for example. Is he suffering because it's self-inflicted, because of drugs he or his parents took or simply because of his experiences?

Regarding the soldier, in that case of course it's due to his experiences which therefore must clearly be an unnatural environment for a human to be in.

dave88 1,565
Too many blokes refuse to seek help because "it's not what blokes do". I myself am one...i won't go to a doctor unless i really have to and even then it's cos the missus is giving me ball ache and won't drop the subject. Knowing blokes can be like that it doesn't surprise me that suicide is a big problem among men...as i said tb25, fair play for trying to sort your problems
