99 Days And ....

99 days and still waiting to see if i can have a FAC airgun

On the Dorset police website back in April it stated 91 days for a firearm grant , looked on there to day ,now it's 82 days .

Would that be working days ?

Seems like forever Mitch.

My wife has sent off her shotgun certificate renewal and also application for firearms grant and as yet we have not had the police visit and that has been about 9 weeks but as her shotgun ticket doesn't run out until the end of July, we will have a fair wait yet.

In my area it is approx 16 weeks for any new application but no problem as my ticket covers her guns as well.

Think of a number and double we had 34 civy F.A.O. they paid them all off but 12 you just got to accept it takes as long as it takes mate , you tried phoning them they will just give you any pish , Oh aye its in front of me just now , im just going to post , im waiting on the farmer

Phoned to day and the FAO just got married and she will not be back for another two weeks

 

They also told me it will be 5-6 months from when they received my application to the grant if everything goes OK

That is just taking the piss Mitch, what possible reason can they give for that length of waiting period............................shocking.

 

I don't understand the document that John has posted, never seen anything like that and the waiting time for fac is half as long as a shotgun license, that just seems wrong to me.

I'm sure I read somewhere just recently someone had to wait 401 days for his initial grant. I don't know which force that was with though. In my experience the time stated on the website means nothing.

Awful wait I remember on my application. When that usual brown envelope the firearms department uses is on the matt and you get all exited only to find another bill lol. Good things come to those who wait. Frustrating! You will get there. What airgun are you thinking of?

Just go with the flow VM, nothing you can do about it. Only two outcomes mate , Yes or No. I am sure it will be Yes. Fill the time with hunting and it will be over and done with before you know it
