Blackbriar 8,569
With drum-roll and fanfares, the new Doctor Who has been announced ! The 13th incarnations of the famous character will be Jodie Whittaker....a woman ! Is this a much needed reboot to a fading series, or the final nail in its coffin ? Some believe it's simply a platitude to the SJWs, who, in turn, claim to have dragged the programmme, kicking and screaming into the 21st century......... Oh, and one more point, I've just thought of.........it's a telly programme that I don't watch - I couldn't care less !

just-A-snap 1,269
There was only Two Dr Who for me and that was William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton, very occasionally interest from Jon Pertwee to Sylvester McCoy, then no more. Dr who was a child of the Sixty's with the Sixty's mind set and our own innocence. Just my opinion and my two pennies worth. All the very best

But having a woman in the lead will kill the show deff its a shame as it used begood show for kids and adults , maybe as you say it run it course and its the end of it now, pity it couldnt finish on a good note with with this doctor .!! Accip74 7,112
Adults watching Doctor Who remind me of adults going on about Harry Potter.......slightly pathetic. What do you think the kids think? I guess that's the question........but yes, more 'inclusive' shite I suppose?

johnny.w 316
I couldn't care less about who plays Dr Who as I haven't watched it since I was a kid. If it keep the feminists happy let them crack on. Next doctor will be black, gay, transgender, or disabled to be politically correct. I don't know why they don't roll them all into one doctor so everyone with nothing else to worry about will be happy.
marshman 7,757
the BBC is clever it does this in the guise of Feminism and forward thinking non gender role, but really they just want to revamp a childish tv show that they've or should I say we've spent millions from going down the shitter . Haven't watched it for years and I love SciFi
BGD 6,436
Bit strange making a thread about a show you don't watch or care about Why are folk so sure this is going to kill the show? I don't really know much about Jodie Whittaker but I assume she's a crap actress if folk are so sure this will be the death of the show without even seeing how she performs in the role? I thought she was quite good in Broadchurch. But then she was playing a woman not a Timelord.
