big napper 3,629
Iv just bought this pup for my grandson and when it went to the vet to get inoculated they found hairs growing out of its eye ball, they said it could be inbreeding but its not that, Any ideas what caused this. Thanks 1 Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Is it not inverted eyelids? Ive heard of a few recently where the eyelashes grow inwards rather than outwards and it causes the dog considerable pain and discomfort but is easily fixed by a vet. 2 Quote Link to post

Thanks Never heard of hairs growing OUT of the eye ball, didn't think it would be possible. Eye lids turned in can cause the eyelash to rub against the eyeball and cause pain but it's a simple operation to fix it. Quote Link to post
FLATTOP 4,638
Inverted eyelids i believe is called entropium very irritating to the eye causing the eyes to water and causing sores in the dogs folds on their face. I had this on a Bulldog many years ago simple operation shar-pei suffer from it as well. Hairs growing out of the eyes unusual best of luck with the pup. Quote Link to post
