Thinking Ahead

Recommended Posts

When I get older, losing my hair, when I'm 64.........................and so the song goes but as I have already passed that landmark, you sometimes think well it is going to be very boring not being able to get out with the gun or the rods as age creeps upon me and the knees give up the ghost even more....................until I saw this.

Well there may be light at the end of the tunnel after all, just need a lottery win to pay for them.

It's not worth thinking about mate - just crack on with it and be happy.

My mates grandad loved golf. He was well into in his 80s and fit as a fiddle when he collapsed on the golf course one sunny afternoon.

The doctor said he would have been dead before he hit the deck.

I'd like to go like that :good:

Besides, 60 is nothing nowadays - my dad is 60 and I'd still think twice before squaring up to him

Im a bit younger than you no much but a bit and five years ago i got my left ankle debribed ( cleaned out ) and it took me a year to get back into the fields they reckon ive another five years then they will pin it and i wont be able to flex it and im dreading it as i dont want to loose another year getting mobile , Then i year ago i took a tumble and landed on my left knee and it still goes up like a balloon when i use it but come September i will be out ferreting my pups a year old and she will get me out there i might need one of the wee buggies for going to asda or tesco but i will get into the field under my own steam and maybe a hot bath and a few voddys at close of play will help but im no thinking about stopping till im 70 :laugh::laugh:

When roving across the fields becomes too much, not anytime soon, I will stick to my clay shooting and bench rest shooting.

If that is not possible, I will find something else, I am that sort of person.

My long time clay shooting friend is 84 and is out shooting every week. My grandfather was still a keeper at 75 and the oldest active member of the clay club I am a member of is 89.

If they can do it....................well you can bet I will be doing my best to do the same.
