hunting mad 147
Pups coming on great now 3 weeks old in a couple of days, mother in good shape too, what age do you lads start weaning pups usually and what you start them on, mother is on chicken lamb and tripe, gonna put the pups on chicken and lamb mince do you bother with any dry foods aswell. 2 Quote Link to post
Lew 111
get as much fat into them as you can, chicken mince is alright for adult dogs but very little fat in it for pups. 1 Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
I always wean them at 3 weeks and although some disagree with it I always put them on warm weetabix in milk and have never had a problem. As they get older get them on to better grub etc. I seen a litter of Springers last week that had been weaned from the bitch onto a specialist weaning pellet that was tiny and the breeder was soaking them in a milk supplement and the pups looked good and healthy. Nice pups in the pic. Quote Link to post
Lenmcharristar 9,721
i always used scrambled eggs to start, they all done fine on it, climbing onto the dish, its a sight to laugh at 1 Quote Link to post
