Hw110 Pellet Preference

Recommended Posts

Just goes to show all barrels are different and like different pellets! I thought some of the pellets looked similar though! Thanks CC :wallbash:

Pellets can change every batch, for good and for worse, so it's good to keep an open mind. ;)

Welcome to the forum   Like Mark said ,clean the barrel first   Mine is not pellet fussy at all AA fields /JSB Exact 8.4 gr 4.51 , AA express / JSB express , JSB Heavies 10.3 gr , JSB FT exac

And yet his groups well with the Weihrauch magnums, which of course are exactly the same pellet as good old Bisley magnums, produced by the venerable H&N factory.

But you love me all the same   Phil

hi mariner

I was in my local shop last week buying an air arms rife and I got some money knocked off because it was covered in this sticky oil

the lad told me that they have all started doing it and that weihrauch had been putting stuff down the barrels that wouldn't clear resulting in 3 hw's being returned due to not grouping!

he sent them back and they got in touch saying don't return any more and rod the barrels out with a brass brush!

take it back to the shop and get them to clean it out for you!

I had a hw110 and it would group anything you put in it.. I use to use Bisley mags until they started grouping badly, thought it was a bad batch of pellets but the reg was paggered!

good luck si

Thanks Si that's interesting, when I was cleaning it I did seem to get some brown residue on the patches and wondered what it was it never came clean after a dozen or so pull throughs! Unfortunately I bought it at a gun show but will give it another good clean to see if that improves things.

Cheers Pete.

jUST IN CASE ONE HAS SLIPPED THE NET

take the silencer off and check the thread on the crown

it should go all the way to the end if not it will be one of the recall models

and the crown was badly finished all of the hw110 were held back and the release date put back as well

and a lot of the hw100,s were recalled mine was one of them this resulted in accuracy problems on both the hw100 and hw110

I hope this is not the case but have a look it should look like this

if its not then it needs to go back to Germany to be put right

So is that why you were buying another rifle, is the 110 history?

no the 110 went a long time ago.. I didn't bond with it so I chopped it in!

try putting some solvent on your pull through.. but make sure the rifle is upside down so no fluid goes down the port!

I am a bit late on this one............................................Welcome to another North Lincs boy.................................we need more of us.

As I am only up the A180 from you, you are welcome to try a selection of my .177 pellets but to be honest my old HW100 loved Bis Mags and at the opposite end Air Arms Field Express, super tight groups with both.

I would be interested to have a few shots with your 110 although I am fancying a .22 version once I have sold a couple of guns that are not being used.

Phil
