Just keep doing what your doing if I was you mate plenty of rest and light lead walks nothing too much, the odd soak in warm water and abit if a massage can sometimes make a difference too just a circular motion with your thumb in the soar point adding abit of pressure

Or that could do the exact opposite and make the injury worst seeing as none of know what the injury is ........

So your saying just rest and light walks till find out what it is or no walking at all? Cheers

Kennel rest us only good if the injury been fixed. Alot of vets love to proscribe rest, pain killers and anti inflamatories without finding the actual cause. It might be fine for pets but I've found the injury usually comes back when you bring the dog back into work. Ideally you want a good greyhound vet or failing that a combination of a bone man and a good normal vet. Find the injury, treat it and then rest it. Good luck

Put a line on him and let him swim in river, pond or in the sea sea if near. Or go to a canine hydrotherapy pool a couple of times a week good exercise and no weight stress on the joint.

You normally have som sort of idea how serious the injury is, if your walking the mutt and he's coping fine then the dog is obviously not in too much discomfort, putting light pressure on the soar spot once a day shouldn't do the dog any harm it will stop the dog from getting stiff whilst resting just as it does for us humans

Unless it's a chipped bone to the elbow then you will keep displacing it not letting it heal .....

Or it's a tendon injury then the last thing you need to be doing is aggravating it by manipulation .....

Just for exeample .......

Just be careful your Vet is not trying to empty your pocket. If he isnt sure what it is in his diagnosis he should have done an Xray then, if there is a fracture or chipped socket. Him saying two weeks down the road he might Xray it isnt good enough, go to a Vet that knows running dogs.
