The fact it says it’s an escaped pet probably gave him a clue, you must be really scraping the barrel to be relevant now going to the express for your facts, ?

What facts? There are no more facts than big cats ?

Still have a lot of raw files to process of this cat. Trying not to post too many.

You,ll believe anything you see in print you silly man, that’s clearly not a trail cam shot it would be in black and white during darkness, I,ve actually met the guy that makes those traps for the bbc, think they work out around 5k plus the cost of the dslr camera, but as long as it makes you feel your proving something please keep enlightening us ??

The set up was,  Canon t6i, Canon 10-22 lens, Camtraptions sensor, and three Nikon flashes.

Obviously pre baited for a good while. Most good wildlife shots are very rarely not pre set up,

That set up.

Camera £350 ish

Comtraptions sensor £160 ish

3 flash units plus remote triggers £800 ish so total £1300

Still a bit more than a £100 trail cam that most of us are using and sandy is implying, the bloke I met lives in the FOD and tests the cams there he had some pretty impressive footage of the wild bore, also showed a clip were he was trying to catch some pigmy elephants they had a clear run through this long grass that was about 6ft tall he set his cams and lights on the run and as they approached you could see the ends of the trunks sticking up and smelling the air they left the path and done a big semi circle around the cameras before rejoining the path just afterwards, if you want to see real good trail cam footage look up a bloke called David Neil’s on Vimeo, he’s been doing it full time for many years and has taught me quite a lot ?

The Set up is simple to put together and as i said the area would have been heavily baited over a long period of time. You then have to be prepared to leave all that kit out all night, The chances are here, someone will nick it. I use to do similar things with nuthatches and that, place an old camera on a branch and feed that branch until the bird became confident with seeing the camera, Then replace it with the real camera and using remote triggers take the pictures using an ipad from inside the motor.

Simple for yourself maybe, I had to go on a course to use my iPad ?it would be good to set up on a private estate but I still like to sneak in places I’m not meant to be,pics below are inside a working quarry i also use the black led models as the red gives them away so recon that amount of flash might cost me a few cameras I lose one or two cameras a year on average so think I,ll be sticking with these cheaper ones ?

Years ago a bloke off here was out lamping where he possibly should not have been. He spots this little red light flashing, after some thoughts of being set up, he decides to approach the red light, on the ground in front of him it a complete DSLR and time lapse electric frame set up complete with battery packs, worth thousands, amazing what you come across when out and about.

I had a thought the other day. There is a big, Not for human consumption, meat processing place near here, surrounded by a few quarries. some being used and others not, this place really does stink of dead stuff. surely somewhere like that would be a magnet if big cats where in the area.
