Call me a hypocrite but seeing big predators shot just doesn't do owt for me. Each to their own

I watched series on netflix called meateater. He went into middle of nowhere to shoot a bear. Big slow moving beast that will walk right up to you if it fancied. I just thought whats the point in that? Fair enough if its coming ibto your yard and eatin your stock but middle of nowhere?

Usually carried out by men with little dicks and big guns, removing alpha preditors is a recipe for disaster in any echo system as they maintain the health of most animals further down the chain by removing the old and stupid, unless they are a particular problem they should be left alone, food would be the only other reason to shoot things like bears in my humble opinion, but trophy hunting to me is pathetic and usually just highlights the insecurity,s of the twat sat over there slain beastie shouting please look at me ,

Yep, grade A c**t! Never mind the realities of trophy hunting, 'fact' is if you're one of them scum f***ing trophy hunters that definitely do not have a net positive effect of conservation through your chosen activities and of course only do it for the penis enlargement benefits then you are definitely unworthy of life. Unlike the average British countryman who is of course honourable as f**k mullering sharp stuff with his lurcher out his scooby for the fertilising effect it's corpse will give the field it was left in!

f**k my life, has anybody actually spoken to a trophy hunter or have they just seen the dentist on sky news and reckon they are now capable of penning an encyclopedia on the these characters? :whistling::D

To me its just the name "trophy" hunting! I just cant see myself ever wanting to kill an animal just because it looks nice. There's a massive difference between someone going out and running a fox with a lurcher or shooting a lion with a rifle! Can you even eat lion meat? I could do it if it was injured though or pride management but in all honestly it wouldn't feel right to slay such a fine animal just because I could afford it!

There are a lot of differences I agree but none I see as significant in the reasoning. Both are done for the same reason, the hunter wants to hunt the critter/beast/quarry because it's enjoyable, it fore-fills the instincts given to them from several hundred thousand years of hunting prior to the agricultural revolution 12k years ago.

There aren't many trophy hunters that only go out to bag the most impressive trophy as a sign of their superiority, that's a total fallacy. They hunt for exactly the same reason we all do, only they can dream bigger.

Terriermen want to dog the hardest subterranean quarry, lurchermen want to kill the fastest and hardest running quarry, African hunters want to experience the wild excitement of the dark continent and hunt the beasts it offers! Even rabbit lampers have the mythical 'ton', lol, with the essential cultural practice of the well deserved trophy shot!

In the UK, deer hunters of all flavours have their 'trophies' measured by the CIC in the hope of a medal. In New Zealand they have roar and hunting competitions/meets where everyone brings their largest stag, tahr or chammy trophy for entry. Same happens all over the West with game animals that aren't considered 'exotic' like African fauna generally is. Just normal working/middle class hunters like us lot that partake in a bit of trophy hunting, largely because hunters have an affinity with the natural world and like to collect shit and have a crack with like minded folk.

It just speaks volumes to me that everyone seems to find African hunters abhorrent yet know virtually f**k all about it.

PS you can eat Lion meat, yes. No idea how regularly it's actually harvested though.
