So the big cat's from the uk.walked undetected to Anglesey over the menai bridge then onto holyhead then jumped in the sea and swam 73 miles to dublin..

Like that guy who thinks bigfoot is living in scotland..does he think bigfoot swam 4200 miles from America to scotland..

More likely they were discarded pets same as here, you could still own them legally until recent times without any restrictions ?

I know it doesn’t but we brought the dangerous animals act in, in 1976 which led to zoos being inundated with unwanted animals and when they couldn’t accommodate them the options were take them to the vet and have them pts I or take them to a desolate place and turn them loose, which was not illegal until 1983 hence the beast of Bodmin,Dartmoor, exmoor the Cotswolds etc Ireland only came in line in 2004 which would probably lead to a similar situation, the big question is did some of these animals breed and start a naturalising population or are people still releasing them, from what I’ve seen I believe the former rather than the latter though I expect an odd one still gets free now and again to add to the mix another question is are there enough to maintain a population or will they become inbred and gradually die out, more questions than answers I know but that is about were I am ?
