Don’t remember that one mate but still get one or two now, the general thoughts on it are it’s done by young males who think they are bigger than they are (sound familiar ?)  this girl has appeared on one of the podcasts and it was her vet that told her to get in touch as you said bit high for barbed wire and the vet and girl also seen the horses reaction which you obviously can’t from a still piccy ?

I find that unlikely that is from a Cougar or Panther, taking on an adult horse is biting off more than they can chew.

I don't think I've ever seen a Leopard catch and kill an adult Zebra and they're much smaller than horses.

Read the post mate it happens in America usually by juvenile male pumas, it’s part of learning, when the horse kicks them off a few times they realise it’s not a viable food option, though the odd foal gets it ?

Yeah the difference here is that is a foal, those scratch marks above appear to be on adult horses.

Who knows hey.

Do you ever question these photo's mate. That foal for instance. From that picture, no sign of damage around the neck where you would expect there to be. Could have simply died, and scavanged on by several things. The scratches on the horse. Reminds me of that boy who had the gullable believing his little lies.

The foal in the paper was nothing more than a newspaper report it’s normally the time taken that alerts people to a cat attack, as in it was healthy and with its mum at 10 at night then taken away and consumed in a few hours before being found like that 4/5 hours later, it’s also important to understand how important the internal organs are to a cat which is why they are taken first both here and abroad,  British scavengers will eat everything in a pretty messy way, we’re as a cat will go about things a lot more clinically, the cut ribs close to the spine are a typical cat trait as they cut through very cleanly and leave a W shape on the cut end were as fox and badger tend to chew and leave a longer stump with a more chewed end if I was called out I would have shaved or skinned the head to look, the windpipe bites tend not to be that visible as it’s more about crushing the windpipe than penetrating the skin, the horse with the scratched arse was found in a state of shock by its owner and her vet put her in touch with us because of what he believed had caused it, like I have said a lot of police and vets are willing to help out but won’t go on record, the boy you refer to was the nephew of a bloke called Danny Ninham I believe, Danny is a glory hunter that has tried to make money from the subject of big cats and is more than willing to tell a few porkies to further his ambitions, I went to a talk he done a few years ago and got up and walked out after the first half an hour, I could not believe what was coming out of his mouth or the fact he had a paying audience hanging on his every word, ??

wouldnt fancy this encounter.....

Third time I’ve seen this today, must be a big hit people keep sending me it ? think when he started running at the start was his big mistake, never give ground to a wild animal, even the old dairy cows kill a few, usually when they start running away and trip, I,m not brave just accept my running away days are over and my odds are better standing strong ??

Am I the only one who thinks that wouldn't bother them too much, it's only a puny female with kittens.

Now if it was a mother Grizzly then you would be bricking it.
