Greyman 28,822
There was that swamp cat ran over down south years ago,TBH I think there's been odd occasions ones got loose an either been captured in someone's garden or been shot /ran over pretty quickly. Until I see one with my own eyes or some pretty clear footage comes out I will be skeptical. and that is a pretty good stance to have mate, living in the West Country there have been reported cat sightings around here for as long as I can remember, I,ve always had a passing interest as a countryman who spends lots of time out fishing, shooting, lamping ferreting, ratting over the years most everything, then in 2015 two things happened that changed my interest, first one on a walk I,d taken a 1000 times over 30 years I found a very fresh still bleeding totally stripped out deer which I recognised as having been killed and eaten a few hours before I found it, then later the same year I was in a little village in Dorset called tarrant monkton, and I saw a big black cat stalking along a hedgerow I took a walk back to the spot a bit later with my dogs and there behaviour was totally weird and though I never saw it again I could tell it was not far away as the terriers would,nt go into cover and the lurcher would not leave my side, so from then I started taking pictures of things I was finding and taking a more active interest and here we are today still trying to get the perfect picture but collecting other bits and bobs of evidence as I go which I share on here, and though you are only 20 miles away I would not want to try and find one in the Forest of Dean either it would take a lifetime, there is a guy near you that claims to have been chased by one as a child, it came out of one of those little disused mine shafts and I think he is writing a book about as we speak,
Greyman 28,822
You say "lions though I no a few were released in the late ,s early 70,s" lions released in the UK???? and just disappearing?? have you seen a lion, not something that just disappears. Lordy. I,ve never seen a lion loose in the uk but I have seen the first edit of a documentary were people who owned lions in the days before the daa came in, admit to letting them go into the wild in the uk so yes there have been a couple loose here in the past, surviving until today not likely, were as a leopard or puma surviving unnoticed it's what they do

Also dont cats half bury alot of there kills ? If something been dead an hour or 2 its not gonna be still bleeding id like to think theres something out there that not many know about but finding dead prey animals means nowt mate.

If something been dead an hour or 2 its not gonna be still bleeding id like to think theres something out there that not many know about but finding dead prey animals means nowt mate. when you get to see a professor in his field examining a dead dear and measuring the teeth marks on the bones and confirming they can only be one thing it's hard to ignore mate regarding sheep the main two things that seem to happen is they don't get taken when they smell of sheep dip only when they are a bit rough, and secondly farmers get payed out if a dog kills a sheep but if they claimed a cat done it they would get nothing but insults, I find piles of dead pheasants in an old quarry I visit regularly I can't give you all the answers but the more I look the more I find, how can I explain finding a leopards footprint in engand and I find a few unless someone is as keen on making me look a prick as I am on solving the mystery, and lastly we all know the difference between a very fresh kill and an old scabby thing that's been killed and eaten over a period of days, lastly if anyone would like to spend a day out with me you are welcome to get in touch and I will show you what I know and look for if you think I,m a nutter tell everyone, I have nothing to hide and nothing to prove I do this for my own reasons and I will crack the mystery if I can keep going for a few more years just keep watching this space
C.green 3,231
As i said your an interesting fella and i do hope you find something for yourself to be honest but 2 things mate first is you only like to acknowledge qestions you have abit of an amswer for and secondly im telling you that them pics of the roe deer are dumped carcases with abit of meat taken off and the scavengers have gave them a go over. Like i say best of luck in your search you seem to put the time in ??

Greyman 28,822
As you all know I,m not technically very capable so if anyone else is interested or wants to, I have had a report sent to me today that the Javan tiger thought to be extinct has just been caught on film in Java, and the jaguar has been confirmed in Arizona, there have been 7 pictures caught of them in 20 years of looking which really pisses on my fire but hey I like a challenge

beast 1,884
I looked at the picture earlier and I think it is a leopard too. Note the small size but more especially the hooked tail says leopatd rather than tiger to me.
