But, you'd have proof ,

In reality, any cat supposedly at large in the uk ,

Serval, Caracal, lynx, puma cougar , whatever, would last minutes few against a three big bull types

Fact

I'd back a leopard or jaguar over 5 bull x's mate

Agreed , hence why I didn't say they would

I would love to see three bullX's catch one of these out in the open.

Again agreed, however that seems to be at the extreme end of the spectrum?

Those seem to be plott joins types there hunting there, how would you rate their guts , power and determination to master a large carnivore?

Would they be capable of turning over multiple foxes in a night?

I doubt it, so as much as I enjoy your posts mackem mate, I still reckon three or four proper bullbtupes would do a less impressively sized mountain lion...

I thought plot hounds were brindle with only bit of white sometimes on the chest ?

If I had to guess I would said they were treeing walkers?

Say your walking along lamping, and suddenly , a pair of eyes appears, , a huge panther / puma/ lioness , is stood 100 m away from you , .....

Would you slip or what?

30 round mags for a reason, squire! ;)

I have met a bloke that was out lamping with a rifle when he flicked his lamp on, there was a Lynx stood about 30 yards in front of him, he told me he was so shocked he never even raised the gun just stood there thinking wtf and watched it walk away, followed by him quickly in the other direction, shock seems to be most people's first reaction and by the time it subsides the cats gone

Fair one mate. Where we differ is that I walk my dogs in cat country so it's always in the back of the mind. Never seen one, seen plenty of evidence from tracks to kills. I pack accordingly! ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

Sudden spate around leafy Surrey

Godalming and guildford

is that in the same area as St. Albans ? the big cat tent at the frampton country fair had 20 report forms filled in weekend just gone that's 36 reported sightings at the two fairs the tent has been at near me this year, helps build a picture of hotspots and even helps figure out routes, have had a few in the area my cameras are in as well which is always reassuring, also saw the first edit of a documentary being put together which was quite good, especially the section on tooth pit identification on the bones of some of the kills, as it,s my favourite subject and it's been quiet for a while, I,ll throw another pic out for debate, got this a few weeks ago what are your opinions, the deer was still alive when found but unable to move so was this another deer rutting or the cat that has been seen on the same estate?

No it's further down south

I can pm you some reports if you want but it's all anecdotal

There was a lynx filmed at winkwort arboretum a few years back

I had a very big black cat cross the path in forestry down here about four years ago

And spoke to others who also saw similar

It's always been a hotspot down herE

You seem a sensible chap tilimangro, so I'm quite interested in your claim. Are you talking about a glimpse or a good clear sighting of something other than a domestic/feral cat?

I've never seen anything myself, but always kept an open mind, due to accounts from other sensible, trustworthy folk I've known.
