walksatnight AIRGUNNER trapper25 Opal

Stork has seen this picture before...it from about 4 or 5 weeks ago.......and ...yes this is ALL my own work.

To try and answer some of your questions

Day 1 -- 52

Day 2 -- 27

Day 3 -- 53

Day 4 -- 26

Day 5 -- 13

This picture was taken after day 3 and does not show all those shot as the staff at the place and my game dealer had already taken some of the squirrels.

They have all come from a country park, or to be accurate, only around 25 acres of the park, I'm working my way around it. It's owned by the council and they gave me a call about their grey problem. After 4 visits , site survey, risk assessments, ariel and ground plans, and meetings with the top people they actually agreed to shooting. We have had to cordon off areas of the park and close them to the public whilst I go about my work. I started in the area I knew was worst effected but would expect to be somewhere near the 300 mark by the time I finish. Park is around 65-70 acres in total and open to the public 24/7 so it was agreed I would only use Air Rifle to limit any carry, the greys were so used to people that their curiosity became their downfall. They are learning fast now!

We have called a halt to things at the moment to allow the situation to settle down a bit...will be back at the park for a few days probably in February to knock down some more before the new ones start arriving.

I have been involved in this Shooting/Game/Vermin control business for many years but this is by far the biggest bag of squirrels I have taken, hence the pictures.

For the technically minded the gun is a Falcon 19RS running at 26ft lb and the pellets were Air Arms Field, 4-16x56 AGS on top and Falcon Long Mod on the front.

And again..if you are interested....a squirrel is white meat and tastes like a chicken with a lot of flavour but not in a gamey way like a pheasant.

Cheers
