Tyla 3,179
Me and my missus are heading down to Cornwall for a week soon. We'll be taking the horsebox full of dogs, fishing gear, camping stuff and a canoe. Basically wanting an adventure! Any recommendations?
dytkos 17,802
Dont drive near my routes Start off at Widemouth Bay just south of Bude and work your way down that fabulous coast road, if you've still got the horsebox by the time you get to Watergate Bay, spend some time there. Cheers, D.
secretagentmole 1,701
Join the Camping and Caravanning Club, find a certified site well out the way round the north coast and have fun. Stayed on a CS near Bodmin a few years ago...

Bush Rummager 4,706
Bedruthan steps is worth a look. Cracking beach when the tide's out. Apparently where Rick Stein goes to pick mussels, if that's your thing. Couple of quid to park up. It's a very steep path to the beach though down the cliff. I've took dog's down before.. not sure I'd do it again though!!!

Nik_B 3,790
Millook Haven I believe, this is a result of two tectonic plates colliding millions of years ago. The rock is interbedded sandstone and shale which has been pushed up against something else creating zig-zag folds. So in short it's created during the process of mountain building, these are rocks from the sea-bed which have ended up at the surface during the collision of oceanic plates...I think...I've had a few beers so might have to re-check but I'm probably right on this. It's cool though, we love the land we hunt on but the processes that made it the way it is happened millions of years ago

Nik_B 3,790
Back to Cornwall, the Mountains are made from Granite, that is a blob of magma which used to be deep underground, as water circulated down in to the rock and up minerals precipitate out in rings around the granite. The miners found zones of copper. zinc and lead...plus gold and silver to mine. Well worth visiting the old engine houses
NEWKID 27,202
I love the North Coast mate, rugged coastline all the way from Bude to Lands end. The beaches between Padstow and Newquay are stunning, but get pretty busy, as D said Watergate is one of our favourites, also Harlyn, Mother Ivys and Constatine are all cracking beaches. Be careful on the Kayak on these beaches mate, great fun in the surf or around the rocks fishing, but you can get a really heavy swell coming in, don't take any risks it aint worth it. Further down towards St Ives the beaches around Hayle are nice, personally I find ST Ives, Padstow etc all a bit much and aimed purely at tourists, but they can be decent for a walk about if you haven't visited before... It's a cracking place mate, the south coast is less rugged but has some nice beaches too (might be bit safer on the Kayak too) Falmouth is a good night out, and some of the creeks up the helford River are worth exploring (and fishing, bass and gilt head bream!!) Robbo off here is your man for up to date fishing down there, Dytkos knows all the walks around the coastline... Have a good un!!

Tyla 3,179
Has anyone fished the reservoirs on Dartmoor? Apparently free fishing for brown trout, any method with a four fish limit?
