shovel leaner 7,650
I agree with Newkid , north coast between Padstow and Newquay is stunning , boobys day , Constantine, Trevone and Treyarnon are all beautiful, Constantine is my favourite and if you are into rock pooling The Rockpools around Trevone take some beating. There are some good places to sea fish as well . There is a good mark near Trevone beach , follow the path below the big Hole in the ground above the beach and you will see a perfect flat rock to stand on good For mackerel, pollack and wrasse. Another good mark I found was off the rocks near Trevose head lighthouse, pulled out some nice wrasse. Padstow or Padstien as it's become known is a nice little herbour town , go to the chough bakery for the best pasties and scones . Avoid Newquay , it's gone downhill, lots of stag and hen do's , sadly it's become a bit of a dump . St Ives is also worth a visit if you want to go to a seaside town and buy the kids an ice cream . If you get nice weather you there isn't a better place for a family holiday. All the best hope you have a nice time .

NEWKID 27,182
Has anyone fished the reservoirs on Dartmoor? Apparently free fishing for brown trout, any method with a four fish limit? Took the kids, dogs and mrs to Meldon Resevoir a couple of weeks back, took a picnic and I smuggled in a rod and a few worms, had a brownie of about half a pound, free fishing and a stunning place... that would be on your way to Cornwall on the A30

Chaff 3,622
Millook Haven I believe, this is a result of two tectonic plates colliding millions of years ago. The rock is interbedded sandstone and shale which has been pushed up against something else creating zig-zag folds. So in short it's created during the process of mountain building, these are rocks from the sea-bed which have ended up at the surface during the collision of oceanic plates...I think...I've had a few beers so might have to re-check but I'm probably right on this. It's cool though, we love the land we hunt on but the processes that made it the way it is happened millions of years ago Yep been their I wouldn't take a horsebox their because you will struggle to get out the roads are really twisty and hills steep been stuck there twice in different motors top surfing to be had if your brave. Also remember last year some kind of warning for dog owners about something washed up on beach, but that was last year.
