It was stripped down and found to be from inside the sensor blade , had been worn away , and so had the round big washer All new parts were bought and when being put back together , it was found that the wood ruff key when fitted was not a tight fit, and loose , any it was put back to gether, and worked grand for 3 weeks , but nowthesame has happened again , 1. Should the woodruff key be a tight fit ,theres more than likely enough room for two in the crank slot 2. If it's loose it defeats the object of locating the pulley in the crank. I wouldn't think you'd need a new crank. They must sell bigger woodruffs? Quote Link to post Share on other sites

They must sell bigger woodruffs? waste of time looking for a larger key, the slot it fits into is going to be worn, either new crank or if you have a very good machine shop they could weld up the slot and recut it, whichever way you go the labour charge is going to be on the bad side of ouch Quote Link to post Share on other sites

TC the pulley and key won`t be the problem, the slot in the crank that the key fits into will be damaged, if your going to piss about bodging it you may as well just weld the pulley straight onto the crank 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

belucky 776 Posted June 20, 2017 Report Share Posted June 20, 2017 dave , liquid metal the key in place and locktite the pully to the crank , make sure all the parts are metaculousy clean and use a new bolt , in a lot of motors the reason for crank / key wear is the bolt stretching , make sure the timing belt is good , atb 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
