"Your killings are worse than ours" will solve absolutely nothing . This hatred was started yrs ago against the wrong people , for yrs some Muslims have preached about hatred towards anyone who doesn'

Some folk just want to shut themselves off in an echo chamber where their views are never challenged, sad really.

You mean like the left and neoliberales? Anyone says anything contrary to their shoite and you are screamed at and labelled an ist or told what you are saying is an ism or you have some sort of imaginary fuucking phobia!

Is this what you are referring to?

But folk on here call for terrorists who are British citizens and were born here to be deported so surely a terrorist who wasn't even born here should definitely be deported?

Don't be silly there's a vast difference and you know it ......

My view is that if you want to exercise your right to free speech, you must accept the responsibility to listen to those who disagree with you.

If you are open about your views - political, religious, social, cultural, whatever - you can, and should, expect to have them questioned.....and you should be able to defend them !

Problems arise when a group of people see any questioning of their belief as a personal attack.....

Couldn't agree more, BB. Attacking someone personally, rather than challenge that belief, is a trait we could do with less of.

Agreed. I strive for the opposite. I come into GT purposely to have my preconceived biases challenged. I know enough to know that I don't know anything at all. Despite some of the shite posted on here, over the years (I've been a member since '04,) it's made my arguments better balanced, challenged them, and even changed them on occasion.

Also where is the fun in not having a polar opposite? If certain posters left this forum the bickering would continue but it would be similar to some of the working dog posts where the thread of argument is narrow it's almost laughable. Devil's advocate has been mentioned a few times in the last few days but that doesn't mean that the devil's advocate is wrong, or arguing the opposite for the sake of it.

I've also been around long enough to see that anonymous screenames allow for a form of method acting. The character on the forum is rarely the character in real life. I've met some great people on here, some are very close friends. Despite the bluster, and the bullshittery, that tends to fill the GT forum there is plenty of common ground when you deal with actual people. It would be a huge step forward if we could capitalize on that.

Good post pal  That's the same reason I like to post about politics on here and a few other right leaning sites (well, that and the fact it's a laugh winding folk up ;)), how can you develop your own views and beliefs if you never challenge them?

Bulldogs hunting and the left don't really mix do they? Said it to BGD before how do you interact with your fellow leftists when hunting and questions about your dogs come up ?

Hunting isn't an issue that's neatly divided along left/right lines, I know a few other leftists that are into fieldsports, some even post on this site!

We've always had partisan divide. We always will. The scary thing about 2017 is that it's incredibly easy to shield yourself from content you disagree with, and just as easy to find information that supports you. It's our civic duty to separate the truth from the bullshit. Social media algorithms make that increasingly unlikely for the lazy.

The trouble with BLT is he won't answer a question that directly conflicts with his views whilst others, myself included meet that head on .He tries to divert the thread to suit his own agenda ,leaving the thread when things get tough .All those crediting him with an opposite view need to actually read that view and ask if it fits your aim for your children and their children .He's no threat to anyone ,I've found his name and know what he does lol and I'm happy to print it should he refute the fact .Wind up merchant, yes and thats far worse than a man with conviction to his cause ,it denotes a gutless being who feeds off confusion.

Someone asks if the attack did any goods and my reply is hell yes ,they now know they aren't untouchable and that the commen man is far worse a fate than a slap on the wrist by any judicial service .No government is immune from overthrow and it would do ours well to bear that in mind in the years ahead .In my opinion we are close to civil unrest on a large scale .

What's the difference then?

For fukc sake the difference is that he was born to British English parents who ere brought up in the uk he follows British believes and religions and doesn't want to change the way the uk is governed or ruled ... Islamic terrorists may well have been born here but they are not from British decent and they want to change the way we live rule and govern to those of the countries they originate from ... simple really .....

I'll happily refute that, I'm 100% certain you don't know my name but folk on here already know how I make a living.
