Thermal Spotter

Recommended Posts

I remember reading some time ago that you could buy a device / camera that along with some software turned your phone into a thermal spotter, has anyone here got one or tried one out or even remember who made it.

From what I recall, it can be used to find dead quarry that proves to be difficult to find after being shot dropping into crop etc. Now I don't have a dog and I'm not getting one and started thinking about this unit as my pigeon finder.

Thanks Mitch, that was not the one I was thinking of but the link went onto a review of the Seek Vs Flir so even better info.

I am going to have to get something this year and unless there is a dedicated unit at a really good price, one of these will do the job. I like the seek for it takes it's power from the phone rather than having it's own battery as the Flir although the Flir does seem to have better detail and functions.

I will see how things progress through the year because there are going to be a huge increase in demand for thermal imaging in normal working life not just shooting.

I reviewed my XQ23V recently it is the base model Pulsar but does all it claims to do and both Optics warehouse and Scott Country do finance on it Phil.To be fair if you go through the reviews of the phone one,s theyre only short range and a few have been sent back as not upto the claimed distance ,picture quality etc.

Its a fair lay out on a pension <£1200> but if you look long term the Pulsar has a 3 year warrenty and uses just alkaline batteries .atb
