Never seen that one of the netted fox before, it's unusual. Any chance of a pic of it from a different angle ?

Don't have many ornaments but the walls are covered in prints, horse brasses of dogs and gamefowl etc. but do have a nice one of a fox carved from a single piece of coal.

Someone in the North of England did it and it's very well done. It's a fox sitting upright on a rock all carved from one lump of coal.

Sounds a cracker Neil.

The figures carved in coal that have been referred to, are they in coal or Jet ?

Only asked because I've seen lots done in jet, no working dog related unfortunately, but not much in coal. I know jet is coal, but not the sort that we used to put in the hearth :-)

Maybe talking about different things but my coal lurcher and all the miners lamps, mining scenes and figurines iv seen haven't been carved from coal, they've been made like posh smokeless ovoids
