Guest Ditch_Shitter
JAMESONS IRISH WHISKY! Man a' f*ckin live! If ye'd asked me, any time in the last decade or so, " What's ye favourite spirit? ". I'd have unhesitatingly declared that Jack Daniels was King! I always favoured that caramel like taste. In my time, I've consumed as much " Scotch " as the next Beer Man. I've certainly done justice to Grants, Teachers, Cutty Sark and, obviously, found Glenfiddich truly Is a cut above the rest. But I once, on a whim, drunk my way through the optics and shelves of what may loosely be considered 'Bourben's' and found JD took my breath away. Thus Uncle Jack became my provendor of a good few years Night Cap rations. Well, the other week a couple of glitches occurred in the matrix. My usual shop ran out of JD and I pretty much ran out of money. Not flat bottom skint, ye understand. But things were a bit tight, a bit early in the month. And now I had to wander down to the Spar shop where the shelves, I knew, were laden with JD. Hey ho. Off I went. And that's when I remembered a poster that had snagged on my conciousness a week before. " Jamesons Irish Whisky ~ 19.99 Euro's ". It'd been the first part - not the price - that had caught my eye: I'd never in my life tasted Irish whiskey! ..... Well; When in Rome ....? The thought of killing two birds with one stone - satisfying my curiosity And shaving a tenner off the budget did it. I left the 30 E bottle of Jack on the shelf and came away with a 25 E, reduced to 20 (Whilst stocks last!) bottle of Jamesons. Why not? That night, I mentioned my new aquisition to a brit mate in a Chat room. Damned if He didn't have a bottle of his own right there too! " What's it like? " I asked him. " Any good? " He assured me; " Ditch; It's Smoooooooth! Ye'll like it! ". And, damn me, like it I did! What a gorgeously smooth, mellow, delightfully gentle drop of whiskey this shit is! It doesn't sizzle down the throat and Dare ye to cough, like JD does. It Glides and Soothes! It's sort of comparable to alcaholic, warm honey" Just that little reminder of the heat and power, high in the chimney at the far back of ye throat ~ Otherwise known as the Brain Stem! And the over all effect is that ye wind up writing Posts like This! At 05:15, FFS! So; What gets You 'in the spirit'? How and Why? Do it ( ) and Say it! Let's hear it! FJager 0
Used to live on Beam as a young fella, but can't even handle the smell of it any more. Looking forward to some rocket fuel Vodka though!
david2363 42
Ditch, if its smooth and honeyed that tickles yer pickle, you will love a drop of Balvenie doublewood 12 year old. As if a a good single malt wasn't good enough, after a few years, they transfer it from the oak whisky barrels and put it into aged Spanish oak sherry casks. Mere words can't do it justice , so give it a try. http://www.balvenie.com/range/index.html

bshadle 5
While Mr. Daniels and I go way back, I currently have a bottle of Tullamore Dew nestled safely under the seat of my truck in case I need to treat snakebite in the field. It's as smooth as Jimmy or Bush, and distilled in neutral territory so's to insult none when shared.
trappa 518
I could never get away with JD. Thought it was just hype and pr that made it a top seller, nothing else. Whyte and mackay is my whisky. But, above everything, there is NOTHING like a large G&T with ice. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm

kvnmcwebn 0
The best scotch i ever had was Glenmorangie that my wife brought it back from the isle of skye. I had a good one there the other day called tir connell. I like most whiskey, jamesons is nice. Im not above a stewards cream of the barley but i prefer a famous grouse. Theres a really mellow one called tullamore dew thats popular in the states. If it aint 12 years in the wood ill open it up with a wee bit of water.
