DB I've no issue with you & never have had , your 1st post 100% spot on , you say don't blame Islam . . You should listen to Edward Snowden and look at what powers they already have. Every single electronic communication is already recorded and subject to algorithms that data mines for intelligence.

 

All this will do is make it far more likely 'dissenters' will be arrested for 'hate speech' and that would include about 50% of people in this thread. Giving government more power is not the answer unless you trust them to do what is right....which they don't

Yes they do teach and impose it! I'll accept that they've left the torturing heretics thing alone for a while, but they were pretty big on absolution for vols back in the last few decades. These days they generally stick to sexual abuse.

 

The point is you're on shaky ground if you're trying to claim one religion is better than the other...

Fair one, mate. I'm not going to hijack this thread and swing the discussion but I don't believe that every mosque in the country is teaching people what you say it is. I just can't buy that. I will say that these cults attract certain types of people. People that love power and influence and like to prey on the weak.

 

My views on religion aren't a secret but despite my disdain for them I still don't believe that all religious people are predisposed to the actions/crimes of some of their holy books.
