What would your advice be to men/women/families caught up in a marauding terrorist attack facing knives, guns or perhaps explosives?
DIDO.1 22,844
Secure your children first at all costs. Find a weapon of some sort and fight back. Saying that though....the security services acted so fast in shooting these cnuts that's your prob better off out of the way. When armed police are on the scene they don't really want have a go heroes in the middle of it.

When they turned up, these guys were shot in seconds, which couldn't have happened if they were being engaged by the public. Its advice under these circumstances, not a motto. After the Brussels bombing I was on the phone to my wife within minutes, she was not much more than 600m away from the attack. My advice was to walk as fast as possible in the opposite direction while I could drive in as fast possible to get her. Which I did & we got the fcuk out of there. Maybe I should have shown more stiff upper lip? Haha....
socks 32,253
There's a time to fight and a time to get loved ones and yourself out of the situation ... if I was in a bar restaurant etc and the fukcers came in and it was game on then I would rather go down taking them on than hiding under the table like a whimpering dog ... and if you overpowered them or killed then you've potentially saved countless lives ......

Exactly, but for most folks who aren't in immediate danger they need to get the f**k out of the way so the lads with automatic weapons can do their jobs. The civilian caught in the shooting on Saturday night is testament to that. They are not f***ing about these days, if you're in the way you're probably getting shot. Taking on marauding terrorists with anything less than a firearm is playing a game with bad odds. That said, respect to anyone who runs towards the danger. Even if they run straight into a lamp post and kill themselves, lol, they showed a bit of courage to stop what's going off, however misdirected or foolhardy. socks 32,253
I agree with the point that if your not in immediate danger then get out of the way so that the police can do their job without having to worry about bystanders getting in the way .........
riohog 5,721
i herd a story the other day from a friend he knows a man ex soldier american some years ago he owned a bar hotel in cairo he was behind the front desk and a chap came in whiped a pistol out infront of him , quick thinking he said the safty is on the gunman looked down he snatched the pistol from him and shot him ,not sure many would get away with that maybe the quick thinking and military training saved him from being killed .not sure the average joe would have got away with that maybe it was a one off but it worked and saved his life . Surely that advice was aimed at women and children , I am not a macho ,key board warrior type of fella ,I like a peaceful existence without going looking for aggro as much as the next man ,but I WILL NOT run and hide ,not now ,not ever .
