D Lloyd 2,790
Is the battery packs coming to the end do you think for us lurcher lads with the new type all in one lamps Quote Link to post
trigger2 3,170
i thought i would never lamp without a seperate lithium and lamp but i have and still do. once these led lamps have the yellow beam that alot of folk seem to prefer then i think a seperate battery and lamp will become a thing of the past. ive got a 10amp lithium i have hardly used since using the led lamps with built in battery 1 Quote Link to post
poxon 5,814
I still prefer separate lithium battery packs I've been out with a few that use all one lamp/batteries but they don't last for good nights lamping suppose there ok if you carry spare batteries 1 Quote Link to post
Teckers 674
I think the cordless ones are defo the future just a matter of time before they get it right or at least get the different choices that people want ? 1 Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,090
Nope prefer the battery and lamp 1 Quote Link to post
LurcherLad94 2,582
100% prefere the blitz and a lithium yes the hand held led have there place and i do use them if im just off for a quick walk bit i just dont feel they have the range and usaly a nights lamping starts early then not finishing untill 4-5 in the morning if weather permits iv had the led go dim on me a few times or if theres a light fog they cant cut through it like the blitz can Quote Link to post
Shovel shy 4,033
I use the lithium battery and lamp. I have used the hand held options but didn't like them tbh. Won't b changing anytime soon. 1 Quote Link to post
D Lloyd 2,790
Cheers lads Quote Link to post
Teckers 674
Iv got the striker enforcer variable and 22ah lithium and iv got two blitzes had trouble with the connection on every one of them, I do love the enforcer though, but when they get their technology sorted and the cordless ones up to that standard I'd definitely go cordless just because of the connection issues, you can already get the battery to go cordless on the enforcer but the battery run time is useless so no point in investing in them at all Quote Link to post
Boristheblade 1,367
Defiantly not, I would never set off for a good nights lamping without the tracer and lithium battery. Tried the led lamps thought they was pants. I'll stick to the halogen and battery pack. Doubt the leds will ever beat the halogen 5 Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
For the amount I use a lamp ,the leds do the trick,I don't have the lamp on that much any way ,don't like the attention . Certainly wouldn't lamp with a dinner plate size lamp, never liked them. But that shows how difficult it is making a lamp to suit all. I don't think they will be far off with the leds the makers just need to know what we need,as all the pieces are there already . Quote Link to post

socks 32,253
Hand held for me all the way ...... Quote Link to post
C.green 3,231
Couldn't part with my lithium and vairiable lamp leds just ain't the same ok whilst walking the dogs but that's about it. When I first got them handhelds I put loads onto them and really rated them but now most like myself have gone back to halogen lamps. Quote Link to post
jackthelad 1,917
if the LEDs came with yellow light they would be much better, I started a pup on a handheld led last season and he was shit, I swapped to my striker and the difrence in his running was unbelievable and I put it down to the colour of the beam.....that brilliant white light is no good imo we took a striker blitz and a handheld out together a few nights and the difrence between them for spotting is crazy I can't see eyes the same with the LEDs 2 Quote Link to post
