ive got short arms and deep pockets,,,,i like my dogs to be in profit,,,or im "sweating like a blind lesbian in a grimsby fish market"

Some of the replies to this post are f****d up as shit next were be hearing of up An coming lurcher lads/lasses neglecting there duties of care to there dogs once there dogs have had bad injuries just

if you get a knock on the door, having a good record at the vets could be the difference between getting your dog back or not.

Wats with all the vet bills lads? Honest question. Working dogs basically scince a child and only been a handful of times.

Very very rarely il set foot in a vets my uncles been at it 50 odd years and we self treat most stuff

hounds and patterdales don't go as fast as a lurcher and not in the dark sometimes either.

Patterdales have a nasty habit of bumping into stuff in the dark too :)

Unfortunately for a lot of lurcher owners they are on first name terms with the vets! I had all three of mine with stitches within a month of each other last season!!! I know some say stich it yourself but if it's bad I think you have to get a professional to do it.. normally a professional out of hours!

Only got the one dog at the moment,he costs about £200-250 a year, excluding vet bills which he hasn't had for a while now.

People buy shite for their dogs,'treats' as far as I'm concerned are left overs and free bones from the butchers.

Iv been in the lurcher game since I was about 7 years old Iv never once had to go to the vets for an injury on any of mine or any of them I grew up with, if the injury is going to ruin the dog for life it's pts if the injury is something the dog can get over after abit of tlc and patients then it's done by either myself or someone I know, I'm not saying iv not had dogs get on abit of trouble I even had one break it's neck running a rabbit but touch wood I am lucky enough to stay well clear of the vets

£2 a day tops for 6/7 months of the year, 50p a day for the other 5 (hopefully :D ) vets/boosters about £100 a year.

Thats about it apart from if they get vet treatment for injuries etc.

Unless you factor in every single thing, leads, petrol, washing bedding, wear and tear on your shoes etc etc etc

Cheers, D.
