Electrolites!!!

Recommended Posts

well i guess pedialyte is an electrolite....

electrolites are used to replace vitamins, minerals and salts that the body looses through piss, sweat and the transfer of heat energy.

The best way to recover is through rest, which the body naturaly needs to help grow and rapair the muscles tissues which have been damaged through strenus activity.

Electrolites can be used to an extent, but too much can damage the body system, and it could take twice or three times as long to recover if the dosage is wrong.

Even though dogs have a different body set up to us, i guess the same principle apply, i could be wrong but this is very unlikley, (no jokes please from tarmac or diesal). lol

:good: hope this helps

all the best

Sash, I know what an electrolite is and what it does and have been using them for some years. I was being specific to "Pedialyte". Thanks for the info though it might help someone out there who doesn't know anything about them and might start them using one :good:

yes, pedialyte is a good source for electralytes--have used it on more than one occasion after hard work, in extreme conditions. Have used Gatoraid in a pinch also. I think it's the easiest and quickest way to get what you need for the dogs.

I'm just gettin over a bad dose of screaming shites and spewing  ,(sickness and diaorrhoea, but I cant spell diarrheoa), and someone recommended diarolyte, it is fecking revolting, so if the dogs arnt keen to try these electrolites, no wonder :11:

Hi all

new here so hello everybody first !

used to use diarolyte when was i was in the army it can be used after dehli belly  to replace lost salts and minerals we used to use it when out tabbing as it acts fairly quickly and gave you a bit of a "boost".

i've used gatorade with my terrier but watered down as it contains a lot of sugars sweeteners etc and not as many min/salts as diarolyte

hope this helps :D
