Sshhhhh born mate

You can't give it away that easy ....

The reality is in situations like this why would they send some bloke whose done a course when twenty mins by helicopter there is a group of men who do this for breakfast

Well that's what I had hoped. All the talk of these new CT police who only needed 2 years as an AFO to apply didn't leave me overwhelmed with a sense of safety! Even if they are trained by the SAS.

Looks cool but didn't save a single life though

Bollocks. The security services and counter terrorism teams have saved f**k loads of lives. And that man there is a good reason for why we haven't seen the Mumbai style marauding attacks.

There needs to be POLICY change to stop the attacks that are getting through.

The suicide bomber was lying in pieces hanging off a railing without his limbs. All of this is after the fact and doesn't change a thing.

The security services as usual knew of this guy and the rest of his family, the government don't tell them to act so they have to attempt to keep an eye on them and they even have to use the police to help.

We can either play wackamole with terrorists for the next 100 years or we can realise that every country we turn in to rubble turns in to a hotbed of terrorism than no one then has the stomach to go in and fix. Libya was just fine under Gadaffi, we removed him and now there is a gigantic mess with immigrants and terrorists....same for Syria.

Just watches question time. As per usual "not all muslims are radical need to educate them they showed great solidarity in wake of attack " blah blah blah. Home secretary in response to some muslim telling a tale about his child being called a terrorist@ school.

We will not tolerate racisim and will deal with it.

I fear there is nothing they do to "US" that will make them stop appeasing the tribes!

But it is saving lives! The fact policy needs changing is another matter.

Changing tack slightly.....

Is it just me who thinks Teresa May has to bear some responsibility for this attack ? I'm not suggesting she is to blame, but look at her record as Home Secretary.....

She oversaw the national police force reduced by 20,000 - including 1,300 armed officers - and the decimation of local policing initiatives, which the police themselves cited as their primary intelligence source.

When the Police Federation warned her, in 2015, that she was abandoning communities and risking national security, she accused their conference of "scaremongering".

On a final thought, the 1,300 armed police officers have now been replaced by almost 1,000 troops - the militarisation of law enforcement ?

No one is responsible for the bombings, other than the guy pulling the cord

Final point , do not read too much into the deployment of troops, we certainly aren't planning a coup de tat or becoming the as

We're there to protect strategic places and to ensure public safety

You will not be seeing 3 Para cutting around London in rmwiks and blacked out faces

no ones fault but the man pulling the string

words fail me

I think I've been misunderstood....

I never suggested that she is responsible directly for the attack - I fully accept that the only one responsible is the "man" who pushed the button.

I'm suggesting, for the purposes of discussion, that in her previous role as Home Secretary, that she presided over the dismantling of local policing initiatives. The police themselves always said that this was their primary intelligence source - a regular face, known to the community, who they could report suspicions to and ,more importantly, might notice something or someone unusual or out of place. 20,000 police officers have been lost and with them went all their experience, knowledge and insight.

You can't replace local knowledge with a hotline.....that's probably how I should have phrased it. And that level of local knowledge might, just might, have produced some intelligence before the scummy coward did what he did !

How that clears my point up.....
