Well, there I was AGAIN, all alone on my own ( not exactly, as my wife, Trish, was with me) and no sign of my fellow THL members to keep me company on the bell target range................................................perhaps it is something nobody wants to tell me :cray:

My dear beloved didn't get on with my diopter sights but in fairness it is all set for me although she had a few shots with a really nice £850 pistol and was talking at some length to a couple of the pistol men....................................... oooer, I see some dosh being splashed in the not too distant future, what the hell, we are only here once.

Treat yourself to a pistol Phil! It was my first time using dioptre sights last night too after fitting one to my HW30.

Is that you Neil who was there last night, if so nice to see you here.

I'll be there, probably getting shown up by my lad again.

As the dates stand at the moment this is the last one isn't it?

Ah, Neil, I had forgotten you were on here as well matey, good on yer.

I emailed Dave Carter a few days ago and whilst there are no more dates set at the moment, he has another pub interested in trying it out so we may have something in the pipeline soon.

I want to have a look at your HW30 now with the diopter sights fitted. Have you tried it out very much since fitting them.

As a side note, I was going to try to get Simon Everett better known as Accuspell on AGF to come along, until I heard of his very serious accident, he is in a bad way and hope he recovers soon. He and I were friends through kayak fishing before airguns so I have known him for quite a few years.........................very bad news and his articles on pellet testing in 'Airgun Shooter' will be missed for a while at any rate.

See you on Thursday Neil.

The dioptre sights seem a big improvement on the standard sights but they're still a bit of a work in progress at the moment, I've just had to make an arrestor pin to stop the rear sight from moving. I'm also trying to make another eye piece with replaceable elements so I can play about with different aperture sizes to see what effect it has.

Trouble is the bell target dates will have finished before I get the HW30 finished!

The diopter sights are available from Air Arms and if you contact my RFD, Crawfords in Scunthorpe, he may have some in his 'bits' box. His number is 01724 846 000 and ask for Graham (the owner). Tell him that Phil Roberts suggested you call and that you are doing the bell target shooting with me.

Tonight was the last night of BTS until the nights draw in again around September time. It was a good night and managed to ring that bell quite a few times even managed to sneak a hit with an Air Arms PCP pistol...................pure luck but what the hell. We tried the food tonight at the White Hart Inn prior to popping the other room to shoot and what a meal, really nice food so that is one place we will be going back to just for the food..

My other half, Trish shot for the second time with a superb Hammerli PCP pistol which I strongly think is on the cards for her later this year.

It was nice to see Neil and his two children all enjoying the shooting and will no doubt see him again when we all get back together later in the year.

My little AA T200 has done me proud over the four evenings I have attended and only wished I had got involved at the start of this series. Now it is time to adjust the diopter sights and start on the 10mt targets until the bell next tolls.
